The map without Cenozoic, as the only map in the scale 1:1 000 000 prepared in accordance with the standards of OneGeology, covers the area of the Polish Baltic Sea zone. The Carpathians area was captured differently for the Internal and External Carpathians. The first was mapped schematically and in a generalized way, after removing the Podhale Flysch (Paleogen). For the External Carpathian area, the situation Subflysch/Sub-Neogene was shown, with the interpreted outreach towards the south of different zones of the Mesozoic and older substrate. Due to the lack of the grill and seismic recognition, a significant part of this area, especially its eastern part, is signalized hypothetically or deprived of a geological content.
The map was created on commission of the Ministry of the Environment and funded by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
